Sex and relationships can be among the most difficult topics to talk about. You deserve a safe, non-judgmental space to have these intimate and essential conversations. You deserve a therapist who’s truly curious about your perspective, your struggles, and your strengths—and who doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I’m passionate about co-creating a deeper understanding of your relationship to yourself and to those around you. As a PhD in Clinical Sexology and an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, I specialize in working with those who struggle with or are curious about their relationship to sex, sexuality, and intimacy. My integrative approach is both warm and direct; it’s both creative and based in current therapeutic and medical research. I believe that collaboration is the key to success, so I meet clients where they are and work with them to access their unique strengths and empower them to reach their goals.

While all sexual or relational concerns are welcome in my office, I’ve developed a specialty in working with those experiencing sexual functioning issues including painful sex (vulvodynia, vaginismus, etc.), difficulty with or inability to orgasm, or low or diminished libido. I worked for many years at the Center for Sexual Medicine, a gynecologic subspecialty group that is part of Northwestern Medicine, and my PhD dissertation focused on the lived experience of chronic genito-pelvic pain.

I also specialize in supporting clients who are working toward a better understanding of their sexual selves, who are navigating dating distress, or who seek guidance about forming and maintaining relationships. I am trauma educated and informed, and I frequently work with those who are healing from past acute or complex trauma. For clients working on general anxiety, major life transitions, or other relational issues, I offer a sex-positive and sex-inclusive approach. I am proudly an LGBTQ-, kink-, and poly- affirmative clinician.

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Tufts University, a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Family Institute at Northwestern University, and a PhD in Clinical Sexology from Modern Sex Therapy Institutes. I also hold certificates in sex therapy and sexuality education from University of Michigan’s Sexual Health Certification Program. In addition to the Center for Sexual Medicine, I have also practiced at Enliven Couples Therapy and was a founding member of Spark Chicago Therapy. I’m passionate about educating, mentoring, and collaborating with other clinicians, and I frequently lecture, write, and provide expert interviews for the media on myriad sex and relationship topics.
